Microsuction is a safe and effective method of removing earwax using a gentle suction device. It is performed by a trained audiologist under direct vision.
No, microsuction is generally painless. You may feel a slight suction sensation, but most patients find it comfortable and quick.
Appointments typically take around 20 minutes, including consultation and treatment.
Yes, microsuction is one of the safest methods of earwax removal when carried out by a trained professional.
We recomend using olive oil ear drops (or Earol) a few days beforehand to help soften the wax and make removal easier.
Common symptoms include reduced hearing, blocked ears, discomfort, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), or dizziness.
This varies from person to person. Some people may need it once a year, while others may require more regular treatment.
Our microsuction service is based at Sheen Surgery, Sheen Lane Health Centre, Sheen Ln, London SW14 8LP. There is on-site parking available, which is free after 6pm.
The nearest station is Mortlake Station, which is around a 5–10 minute walk from Sheen Lane Health Centre.
There are several bus routes that stop nearby on Sheen Lane, including the 33, 337, and 493, making the clinic easy to access by public transport.
